Location/Atmosphere:

Dolphin Quest is a 500-acre family-owned jungle lodge located within the Piedras Blancas National Park on the coast of the Golfo Dulce in Southern Costa Rica. This remote lodge is completely surrounded by the jungle and offers an authentic and rustic experience in nature. With over 30 years of protecting and persevering its natural environment and welcoming guests to experience eco-tourism, Dolphin Quest provides the perfect setting to help you connect within and around you.

Accommodations are shared bungalows with open-air showers and private bathrooms. Enjoy waking up and falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle while being only less than a 5-minute walk to the beach.

How to Get to Dolphin Quest:

If you are in another country you will need to fly into San Jose airport (SJO) and then take a domestic flight to Golfito or Puerto Jimenez with Sansa Airlines. Flight to San Jose and Golfito or Puerto Jimenez are not included in price. From there, Dolphin Quest can only be accessed by boat (this service is included in price).

Retreat Description:

Savor the flavors of Costa Rica with three farm-to-table meals daily with fresh ingredients sourced from the garden onsite. With options to cater to dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan diets, every meal is an inclusive and communal experience.

We will dive into the world of herbalism and wellness by learning about the plants and food that are grown on the property and how it is incorporated into the culinary experience at Dolphin Quest. Starting with the basics of herbalism and gardening and deepening our understanding with a property walk, we will harvest the herbs and plants that are grown and have them be utilized in our daily meals. To be able to put herbalism and food as medicine into practice, we will also be learning how to make tinctures, fermentations, and functional tonics/beverages. The goal is for you to be able to learn and apply what you learn on this retreat into your daily routines back home.

Mindfulness and self-discovery will be practiced through activities that encourage self-reflection, inner growth, and connection with others. Alma Pura aims to create a safe and inclusive space where each individual will feel empowered to connect with their essence and allow the healing power of nature to enhance their human experience throughout their time in the retreat.

Discover the beauty of nature on a waterfall hike, dolphin watching, a bioluminescence tour, or simply walking around the property. When workshops or activities aren’t happening, you can spend your time going for a dip in the ocean, kayaking, relaxing on a hammock, observing wildlife, or even learning a new skill. Besides what is already included in the retreat itinerary, there is also a list of activities that you can you can experience at an extra cost.
