WORK EXCHANGE

Hello! We are happy to hear about your interest in our work-exchange program. We are looking forward to getting to know you better and have you be part of our tribe for a while. Please read over the information below and fill out the questions (individually).

Our mission is to help people strengthen their connection with nature by experiencing a raw off-grid lifestyle in one of the most biologically intense regions of the world.

As you will learn, there are always endless amounts of things to work on at Dolphin Quest. Some will seem like really hard work and others will seem like a vacation; this truly depends on your ATTITUDE and EAGERNESS to learn and grow. The jungle isn't easy and this is an opportunity to become more in-touch with nature, while challenging yourself physically and mentally.

While we will try to incorporate a good balance of tough and enjoyable work, please keep in mind that you are coming here to HELP us and that hosting work-exchangers is something we offer to benefit those that cannot afford our rental rates but want to stay for extended periods of time and learn a different way of life.

We offer hostel-style shared bungalows with basic food provided, prepared by yourselves or jointly with other work-exchangers and staff. The following options are available:

Low season Jun-Nov:

1) 2 weeks stay with 5 hrs. of work per day- $300

2) 1 month stay with 5 hrs. of work per day- $450

High season Dec-May:

3) 2 weeks stay with 5 hrs. of work per day- $375

4) 1 month stay with 5 hrs. of work per day- $600

A Private Bungalow with shared bathroom/shower is available for an additional $25 a day on any of the above options.

We request that you choose one option and send the financial contribution ahead of time to our PayPal (DQCR.info@gmail.com) or bring cash on hand the day you arrive.

Work is generally done in the mornings Monday-Saturday with Sundays off. The work is 90% outdoor manual labor consisting of gardening, landscaping, maintenance, housekeeping etc. For stays longer than a month, options to work with social media, marketing, graphic design, communications, blogging, etc. are also available. However, please feel free to share any bigger picture ideas or project proposals after your first week here!

This daily schedule leaves the afternoons and evenings open for enjoying the nature trails, kayaks, beach, animals, organic gardens or just chilling in a hammock. We also have an extensive list of tours and activities that can be arranged on any day as long as it’s coordinated at least 24 hours in advance. *All work-exchangers get a 20% discount!*

For stays of one month we normally have an assessment meeting after 10 days or so, during which we discuss the situation and seek ways to better help each other grow and work effectively. If there are any persisting issues then we reserve the right to cut the work exchange short and we can peacefully part ways.

**In this case any balance outstanding will be reimbursed. However we do not hold the obligation of reimbursement after the assessment meeting if you decide to leave earlier than planned.**

We recently added wifi to our communal area which is accessible from 7am to 10pm for both remote work or leisure. One of our cabins also has wifi and the space can be used for remote work in some cases, if no guests are renting it. Just communicate this need to the manager upon arrival.
